NAMIBIA TRAINING AUTHORITY 2026 JANUARY/SEPTEMBER INTAKE FUNDED TRAINING PROGRAMMES

 River Higher Institute of Technology (HIT) is registered with Namibia Training Authority (NTA), accredited by Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) and registered with the National Council of Higher Education ( NCHE).

                                FOR THE APPLICATION PROCESS: Provide

  • Fully Completed HIT Grants Application Form
  • Detailed CV
  • A Certified Copy of ID/Passport or other form of
  • A Certified Copy of Educational Qualifications
  • A Certified police declaration of
  • The residency (region) of the applicant must be indicated in the police declaration.
  • Only those committed to studying need to – dropouts will be made to pay up the institution

  1. National Vocational Certificate in Solar Equipment and Maintenance NQF level 1
  2. National Vocational Certificate in Information and Communication Technology Foundation NQF level 2
  3. National Vocational Certificate in Electrical Engineering NQF level 2
  4. NVC in Solar Equipment, Maintenance & Installation (Levels 1–4)
  5. NVC Electrical Engineering (Electronics) (Levels 1–3)
  6. NVC in Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) (Levels 2–3)
    (Foundation, Computer Systems Support, Web Development & Networking)
  7. National Vocational Certificate in Merchandising (Level 3)
  8. National Vocational Certificate in Wholesale & Retail Operations (Level 2)
  9. National Vocational Certificate in Wholesale & Retail Distribution (Level 2)
  10. National Vocational Certificate in Wholesale & Retail Frontline Supervision (Level 3)
  11. National Vocational Certificate in Transport, Operations & Logistics (Freight Handling) (Levels 2–4)
  12. National Vocational Certificate in Financial Services (Insurance Intermediary) (Level 4)
  13. National Vocational Certificate in Preventative Health (Occupational Health & Safety) (Level 4)
  14. National Vocational Certificate in Preventative Health (Occupational Health & Safety) (Level 4)
  15. Diploma in Accounting and Finance NQF level 5 & 6
  16. Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering NQF Level 4 & 5 – Windhoek Only
  17. Diploma in Telecommunication Systems NQF Level 4 & 5
  18. Diploma in Information Technology NQF level 4 &  5

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Grade 11 with 15 points in 5 subjects or (OLD Grade 12 ) with at least ‘D’ symbol in English and Maths and Science
  • Or Mature Age Entry of 23 years old or over but should pass the HIT mature Age entry test programmes offered at NQF levels 1 and 2

All foreign qualifications should be accompanied by NQA evaluation

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

• Unemployed Namibians
• People from socio-economic disadvantaged and marginalized backgrounds
• People living with disabilities, and those from marginalized communities, are encouraged to apply and will be given first preference provided they meet all other admission requirements
• Those are who are committed to studying- (Dropouts will pay up the college from their own money)
